Quite a few years ago, some comics trade magazine (whose title I can't recall) ran a number of unpublished George Perez pages, drawn before he turned pro. For the young, aspiring, unknown and unpublished wannabe I was at the time, this was a godsend, for it showed me in concrete terms that I could improve with practice and that I, too, could make it someday as a pro, just like George did. How often I've wished over the years that I could see other artist's amateur work!
Showing one's early unpublished work is probably somewhat embarrassing for many artists, but I get a real kick out of the unintentional absurdities found there, and I remember how important that Perez find was for me. So in the interest of letting it all hang out, and in case anyone else out there feels the way I did, the following unpublished crap, er, efforts from my amateur years are presented for your amusement...
And remember: The only way to graduate from amateur to Pro is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
